lynne owings

December 26, 2016

In late December 1979, in the middle of the night an unknown suspect entered a home on the Southside of Jacksonville, Florida and took the life of 20-year-old Lynne Owings.

The victim, Lynne, was asleep when the suspect entered her room, assaulted and beat her to death. Investigators have been unable to make an arrest in this case and need the public’s help.

This week is the 37th anniversary of Lynne’s murder and those that knew and loved her are still waiting for answers. After all these years the hope is that someone who was too scared to come forward in past will do the right thing and give Lynne’s family and friends the answers they have waited so long to get.

If you have any information, no matter how small, please call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500. To remain anonymous and possibly collect a reward, call First Coast Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
