Just after dawn on August 9, 1995, an employee arriving for work at McAllister and Associates in Apopka, Florida found the body of Larry McAllister, 45, near his Mercedes-Benz sedan. Larry had been shot and robbed at some point during the night.

He was known to work late hours but always carried a handgun for protection. Investigators believe his killer probably hid outside the building waiting for Larry to leave. The killer shot Larry and took nearly $200 from him as well as his 9mm semiautomatic pistol. Detectives used a police dog to track a scent from the parking lot to West 13th Street where they found an undisclosed piece of evidence.

Larry McAllister was a hard-working, dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a former Eagle Scout that juggled odd work hours in order to spend time with his young children. It has been over 21 years since Larry McAllister was murdered in the parking lot of his own business and our hope is that someone will come forward to provide answers and justice for his family.

If you have any information on the unsolved murder of Larry McAllister, no matter how small you think it is, please contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at (407) 254-7000. To remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward you can submit a web tip to Crimeline or call (800) 423-TIPS.
